ELMO Single-Phase Resistive Load Bank, also known as a Loading Rheostat 6.5KW Bank, is a high-power resistance network designed for testing single-phase power supplies and generators. It allows accurate performance evaluation by simulating controlled electrical loads, which is essential because real operating loads are often unpredictable and variable. The unit is built inside a robust enclosure and features 14 switched resistive load banks for precise load control.
Designed for use with single-phase systems, each resistor bank is electrically isolated, with separate terminals provided on the panel. A star/delta switch enables quick and easy configuration changes based on testing requirements. Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) are used to safely adjust the load resistance in steps. The system also includes a cooling fan to dissipate heat and maintain safe operating temperatures during extended use. Mounted on a trolley, the equipment can be moved conveniently within laboratory or testing environments.
